Josh Bidwell Foundation Scholarship
The Josh Bidwell Foundation was founded in 2006 specifically to raise funds to help people in our community suffering with cancer as well as our area youth. 100% of funds raised remain in Douglas County.
Josh Bidwell was a 3-sport athlete graduating from Douglas High School in 1994. After graduation Josh played for the Oregon Ducks as their punter and then on to 12 seasons in the NFL. Josh was diagnosed with cancer in 1999 but overcame the challenges and returned the next year to win the starting punter position for the Green Bay Packers and started in all 16 games for the following 9 seasons. The JBF Scholarship Fund was established in 2016 to honor Josh’s founding vision of giving back to those affected by this terrible disease and our area youth programs. This scholarship is presented annually to scholars who show a promising future in becoming successful, contributing citizens of their community and embody a similar altruistic philosophy of the JBF Foundation.
